Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus Lyrics ·
1 O soul, are you burdened with sorrow?
No light in the darkness you see;
There’s light for a look at the Saviour,
And life more abundant and free.
Chorus:
O turn your eyes unto Jesus!
Look full in His wonderful face!
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
我们也跟随祂到那里;
2 Through death into life everlasting,
He passed, and we follow Him there;
And conquerors in all that assails us,
His riches in glory to share. [Chorus]
3 祂的话语永不落空,绝不;
只要相信,一切都会好;
3 His word shall not fail you, no, never;
Believe it, and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell. [Chorus]
About “Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus” ·
Helen Howarth Lemmel (1863–1961), born in England and raised in the United States, wrote both the words and the music of “Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus” in 1922. By her own account the refrain grew out of a missionary tract, “Focussing”, by Lilias Trotter, which urged readers to look full at Jesus until everything else grows dim. The hymn has three stanzas and a refrain, and is sometimes known as “The Heavenly Vision”.
