About “There Is Power in the Blood” · 关于这首圣诗
刘易斯·埃德加·琼斯（1865–1936）是基督教青年会干事和圣诗作者，1899年写了《宝血有能力》的词与曲，据说是为马里兰州山湖公园的一次营会而作。每节先问一个问题：“你想摆脱罪的重担吗？”再用同一句来回答。“藉着羔羊的血得胜”的意象取自启示录12:11，“比雪更白”取自以赛亚书1:18。
Lewis Edgar Jones (1865–1936), a YMCA secretary and hymn writer, wrote both the words and the music of “There Is Power in the Blood” in 1899, reportedly for a camp meeting at Mountain Lake Park, Maryland. Each stanza asks a question, “Would you be free from the burden of sin?”, and answers it with the same line. The image of victory “by the blood of the Lamb” comes from Revelation 12:11, and “whiter than snow” from Isaiah 1:18.
