About “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” · 关于这首圣诗
罗伯特·劳里（1826–1899）是浸信会牧师，也是巴克内尔大学教授。他在1876年任职于新泽西州普兰菲尔德的教会时，写下了《唯有耶稣的宝血》的词与曲，曲调因此叫PLAINFIELD。每一节都以同一个回答“Nothing but the blood of Jesus”（除了耶稣的宝血，没有别的）收尾，副歌“Oh! precious is the flow that makes me white as snow”呼应约翰一书1:7。劳里还写了《在河边相聚》和《基督复起》。
Robert Lowry (1826–1899), a Baptist minister and professor at Bucknell University, wrote both words and music of “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” in 1876, while serving a church in Plainfield, New Jersey; the tune is called PLAINFIELD after the town. Each stanza ends with the same answer, “Nothing but the blood of Jesus”, and the refrain, “Oh! precious is the flow that makes me white as snow”, echoes 1 John 1:7. Lowry also wrote “Shall We Gather at the River?” and “Christ Arose”.
