About “Jesus Saves” · 关于这首圣诗
普里西拉·简·欧文斯（1829–1907）是巴尔的摩的学校教师和主日学工作者，1882年写了《耶稣拯救》，威廉·柯克帕特里克谱曲。它成了宣教诗歌：诗节号召歌唱者把消息越过山岭和海洋传到“每一个地方”。“Jesus saves, Jesus saves”像副歌一样结束每一对诗行，所以容易学，也适合众人一起唱。
Priscilla Jane Owens (1829–1907), a Baltimore schoolteacher and Sunday-school worker, wrote “Jesus Saves” in 1882, and William J. Kirkpatrick composed the tune. It became a missionary hymn: the stanzas call singers to carry the news over mountains and seas to “every land”. The refrain-like line “Jesus saves, Jesus saves” ends every line pair, so that the hymn is easy to learn and sing in a crowd.
