不能朽坏，不能看见，独一全智的神，
住在人不能靠近的光里，是我们眼不能见的；
至蒙福、至荣耀，亘古常在者，
全能、得胜，我们赞美你伟大的名。
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
不歇息，不急促，如光一般无声，
不缺乏，也不耗损，你凭权能掌权；
你的公义如高山，高耸在上，
你的云彩是美善与慈爱的泉源。
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
你赐生命给众人——无论大小；
你活在万有之中，是众生命真正的生命；
我们如树上的叶子，开花茂盛，
又凋残衰亡——但没有什么能改变你。
To all, life Thou givest -- to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish -- but nought changeth Thee.
荣耀的大父，纯洁的众光之父，
你的天使敬拜你，都蒙着自己的脸：
但在你一切丰盛的恩典中，主啊，求你赐下这一样恩典——
除去我们脸上的帕子，除去我们心上的帕子。
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight:
But of all Thy rich graces, this grace, Lord, impart,--
Take the veil from our faces, the veil from our heart.

只是光的辉煌将你遮蔽；
求你把你全能的荣耀赐下，

All laud we would render: oh, help us to see,
'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee;
