我们要在守望中疲倦，
抱怨这长久的迟延，
对我们天父的时间
和他所定的路不耐烦吗？
Shall we grow weary in our watch,
And murmur at the long delay,
Impatient of our Father’s time
And his appointed way?
哦，信心的更深试验
常常胜过牢房或殉道的火刑柱：
这舍己的警醒，
默默祷告所能成就的。
O, oft a deeper test of faith
Than prison-cell, or martyr’s stake,
The self-renouncing watchfulness
Of silent prayer may make.

We gird us bravely to rebuke
Our erring brother in the wrong;

Easier to smite with Peter’s sword

Bend o’er us now, as over them,
